enhanced that steely character.

PROGRESS CAN BE PRESERVATION

We seek to understand the unique past of a place. So that as we develop or restore–with both passion and patience–we enhance it by belonging. It’s been our guiding philosophy for decades: being mindful of yesterday as we lay foundations for tomorrow.

CONNER CABINS & LOFTS

We restored three miners’ cabins built in the 1880s. Working with Aspen’s Preservation Commission, we moved The Conner Cabins closer to Hopkins Avenue, allowing us to develop additional lofts and a courtyard behind the cabins. We protected a significant part of the property as a preserve in Aspen’s downtown, and the 100 year-old ‘family compound’ now stands as a totem of Aspen’s history–and future. We received a preservation award for the restoration of the cabins, as well as an award for the entire development.

THE DOUBLE BAR X RANCH

Double Bar X Ranch, whose rolling acres and winding paths are cradled between Maroon Creek and Roaring Fork River, is 124 acres of natural beauty just minutes from downtown Aspen. It features 13 single-family lots, including the historic 1880s original residence and barn. We added modern irrigation, landscaping and ponds. We partnered with the City of Aspen to build a bike trail into downtown and backdoor access to some fantastic fly-fishing and the serenity of watching snow fall on magical winter days.
